One Real Estate Market That Looks Good

It’s easy to generalize. If the real estate and mortgage market looks bad in major cities from California to New York then it gets national airplay. But small towns and rural areas don’t. So if a local area’s real estate is looking good then people keeping an eye on the national trend wouldn’t notice. Such is the case with Charlotte, North Carolina, where real estate is evidently doing well.

The news come from Standard & Poor’s/Case-Schiller housing index, an annual report that details the housing market by geographical area. According to the report, Seattle, Washington is also doing well. Both communities have realized a 4.7% gain in housing prices in one year. Other cities in the positive gains include Dallas, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, and Portland, Oregon, though none of them are doing as well as Seattle and Charlotte.

It just goes to show that you can’t overgeneralize the real estate market.
